Swapnil Jagtap is a Beed-based artist from Maharashtra. After completing his BFA and MFA from Mumbai’s iconic JJ School of Arts, Jagtap moved back to his family of farmers in a notoriously drought-prone part of Western India. This conscious homecoming is invoked in a dramatic palette of rustic geometries, ritualistic objects and agrarian life, whilst conjuring a language that is both rooted in place and global all at once.
