Salt Of The Earth

by Swapnil Jagtap
Seattle, 2026

Swapnil Jagtap is a Beed-based artist from Maharashtra whose award-winning practice emerges directly from the soil he inhabits. Coming from a family of cotton farmers and working across land art, the award-winning artist creates ephemeral interventions using seeds, stone, water, and organic matter—transforming rural terrains into sites of quiet, poetic inquiry. Rooted in the textures of agrarian life yet conversant with global ecological discourse, Jagtap’s work negotiates the intimate and the planetary, inviting a deeper attention to land, labour, and the fragile rhythms of the natural world.
